okay i just acguired two new guns one for hunting a savage striker in 308 win

second a wiley clapp colt commander for carrying.Never like my 45's to be shorter then 5 inch but this gun will be my companion i will need to practice alot as i'm used to an o frame colt and when instantly grabbing gun don't naturally line up for my but it still comes to sight quick and i believe practice will take care of this i have not put it to paper yet. This gun was made more for combat then target has a wider rear sight. The current american rifleman has an article with more details about it

I did throw a few cans in the pond and put holes in them this handles like a dream

You will love your Striker. I have the blued version of yours, and it is one of the most accurate guns I own.

I had a stainless .308 "Super Striker" (the one with the laminated wooden thumbhole stock, and no brake) for several years, and it was quite accurate. I believe you'll enjoy yours. I used a T'SOB quarter rib base and Burris 2-7X scope on mine.
I read the American Rifleman article about the Wiley Clapp Commander, and liked what I saw. I haven't yet seen one for sale around here. Please let us know how your's shoots.
