Ok I have a 1959 Ruger .44 Magnum Flat Top. Can I convert it to a .480 or would it have to be done as a 5 Shot? Or can it even be done?

480 Ruger conversions are 5 shot. I don't know of anyone who has shoehorned a 6 shot variation on the Blackhawk frame.

The only 6 shot 475 caliber I know of is the 480 Achilles.

John Linebaugh had agreed to do a 5 shot 475 for me on an old model flat top but that means it becomes a 4 shot gun in reality. Personally I would much rather use one of the new model bisley guns for the 480 conversion just for the fact that you can carry all five in the gun with the transfer bar and the bisley grip frame is MUCH better at handling recoil from rounds like the 480 than the original Ruger XR-3 Colt sized grip frame is. Alan Harton or Jack Huntington both do those conversions and I believe even do them on the smaller New Vaquero or flat top sized guns.

Has to be a five shot. Super RedHawk's are 6 shot.

Ruger converts these to the transfer bar system free of charge and returns the old parts with the revolver.

I can't see using a '59 for the conversion, but that's just me. Get a new Bisley and keep the elder statesman intact.

That would be my suggestion as well.
