The 6.5 JDJ is a .225 Win case necked up to 6.5mm and fireformed to minimum body taper and maximized capacity. It is a proprietary round from J.D. Jones at SSK Industries, a company specializing in custom Contender & Encore products among many other things. Check them out at www.sskindustries.com

The 6.5 JDJ will do an honest 2400 fps with a 120 grain bullet in a 14" barrel. It is quite lethal on medium game to 250 yards or even a bit more in skilled hands. It's one of my favorite hunting rounds in the Contender. And, it's accurate, too: 5 shots in a half-inch at 100 yards is no great feat with this cartridge in an SSK barrel.
