Brownells has a new bore cleaner called M-Pro 7. It was developed to clean aircraft cannons and will get all the carbon out of the pores of steel. Seems to be water based, doesn't smell and will not hurt anything that water won't. If you clean your guns with any solvent until patches are white, then spray some of this stuff down the bore and brush it, the next patches will be black. It really foams on the brush. I won't use anything else now because it cuts cleaning work in half and my guns were never cleaner. I use it for a final cleaning for black powder guns too.
They also have a CLP and an oil.

What are the active ingredients in the product? It doesn't work on copper so you'll still need to use a copper solvent of some sort.

The only review I was able to read mentioned that it stripped all oil out of the barrel so it was necessary to oil afterwards.

Do the directions mention leaving it in the bore overnight?

There are so many "miracle" cleaners out there that it's confusing to keep up with them.

There is no list of ingredients on the bottle. I agree it is not for copper but it does help by removing carbon before and after using Sweet's or something. I find it works better then anything in my revolvers. I was never able to clean to bare steel before. I get no lead and don't shoot jacketed bullets so my problem has always been carbon. Seemed like after 30 patches, the gun was still dirty.
My friend brought over 2 Moisin-Nagant rifles he just bought. The bores looked like they were pitted beyond use. I cleaned with M-Pro 7 and the bores are OK. You would not believe the crud it took out. They both shoot super now.
We always needed two or more cleaners for fouling, copper and lead. This won't change but I get my guns cleaner, faster with less effort with M-Pro 7.

Does the bottle recommend how long to leave it in the bore?

Do they caution against leaving it in for extended periods of time?

I use chevron techron , Its made to remove the carbon build up in your motor . It works great as a bore cleaner and then you just remove the copper with sweets .
Got this little tip from the bench rest boys , Thats what they are currently useing . They used to use gm top end cleaner but it is no longer availible locally .
