I am interested in a 10mm 1911 but want a milled receiver for a reflex sight — preferably a Trijicon RMR.

I am aware of the Dan Wesson — it is a bit too modern for my taste.

Are there other makes of 1911s chambered in 10mm that are factory ready for reflex sights or factory installed with them?

I believe Springfield made a TRP model in 10mm with a RMR cut slide. Other than that, you will most likely have to have the slide custom milled. I used a base from EGW that I installed into the sight cut and mounted a red dot on a Rock Island 6 inch 10mm

Kimber has a couple:

KHX Custom (OI)

and the version with a lower Picatinney accessory rail, KHX Custom/RL (OI)

Both have a milled slide and come with a Trijicon TYPE 2 RMR installed.

Let us know what you decide on, Lane. That would be a very capable handgun.

Lane, found this:

"Several folks make a reflex sight mounting plate with a Novak dovetail in the bottom that mounts in place of your rear sight, so no milling needed. the easiest ones I've seen from a quick search fit the Burris Fast Fire 3 and the Vortex Razor, both of which are very popular and reliable mini reflex sights for handguns".

Shows you have never shot one.

They are a game changer. Wink

Yessir. I have looked them. They just sit too high and look more obtrusive. And, if milled, you can add backup conventional sights.

Howdy Bill,
I hope you are well and your back is treating you kindly.

I am going to go with the Kimber if I can get one…which is the problem these days it seems. Frowner

I had the dovetail mounted one and it worked pretty good. I removed it because the particular model red dot I had would shut off after so long and it would render the pistol useless if I needed it quick. I Will say that target acquisition was very quick and it was very accurate when you would turn it on.

Lane, do yourself a favor and take a look through the Holosun 507C before buying a reflex sight. Holosun and Trijicon allegedly came to some sort of agreement about design similarities. At the range where I work, I have handled pistols with Burris Fastfires, the Vortex Vipers and Venoms, the Leupold and the Trijicon and I find that Holosun reticle with the 32-minute circle and the 2-minute dot by far the easiest to acquire.
Back is finally coming round after surgery No. 4, and thanks for asking. I pray all is gangbusters at Lane's house. Cool

I had one I sent into Fusion Firearms and had them mill the receiver for one. It works out great and wasn’t too expensive
