I have two Dan Wesson revolvers. I have a 44VH with both a 6 and 8" barrel. I have a 22 with two 8" VH's. One with open sights and one with a 1.5-4X Burris. Both guns are of the Monson, Mass manufacture. I believe that these are the better guns. Parts are all interchangeable, and are still made. Barrels and barrel assemblies can be purchases from Wesson Firearms with no FFL. They are generally cheap as well, though the new ones of the last two years seem really high. Both guns are extremely accurate. I'd hop on another Dan Wesson deal in a second.

I recommend a close examination be given to the older Dan Wessons. Some were not machined all that well and have rough chambers and bores, some are outstanding. I like the Dan Wessons and used to have a model 15-2. I wish they were more available in my area, but they are rare around here.

QD, I've have a 15-2 in 357 mag for about 25 years. I can't tell you where it was produced but I have a 4" and a 8" and it shoots great. I bought a DW44 2 years ago and I can hold a 1-1/2 - 2" group at 50 yds with it. I got a deal on it too. I got an 8" barrel, a 6" barrel, and extra silhouette sight set with hooded front sight. I got it for a song. I've shot the heck out of them without a problem. When I find a DW22 in nice shape, I'll buy that too. They make great guns. Happy shooting with your DW. Stoney
