Blackhawk scope mounts

Big Wonderful WyomingBlackhawk scope mounts
I have a 41 that my father gave me and I'd really like to put a low powered Leupold or Burris scope on it.
Does anyone sell a scope mount like the one that Freedom Arms and MOA use.
This one?

These Weavers are the uglier option I have seen.

Here's a dual dove tail Leupold. A bit better.

WhitworthYou need to decide whether or not you are open to drilling and tapping the top strap of your revolver. That second photo is of a Weaver no drill, no tap unit.

Big Wonderful WyomingI am fine with it, I just don't know what is better.
I'd prefer a really good looking mount like Freedom Arms uses. But I haven't seen one for a Blackhawk.

LuckyduckerI tried a no drill mount on my 41mag Blackhawk and I couldn't keep it on target. Every time I used it I had to adjust the scope first. I drilled and tapped the top strap and installed a Wiegand mount and have had no issues at all.

I get it, but there really isn't much aesthetically pleasing about having a scope on a revolver IMHO!

Big Wonderful WyomingI get you, just trying to do my best with what I need it to do.

I don't do so well with irons anymore either, to be honest. That's why I use red dots so extensively. Just have trouble warming up to scopes and their loooooong eye relief.

Woodrow SBuying a Ruger Hunter model in either the Super Blackhawk or the Redhawk solves this whole problem. I use both and the scope mounting method just works. Outside of that the Leupold seems to be about the best as far as reliability and looks goes.

Big Wonderful WyomingThis is a pistol that was a gift from my Father. I'd like to hunt with it.
I know I can buy a new wheel gun that was built to shoot a scope and make life easier.

Bill/OregonI have had the Leupold mount and the 2X EER scope on a couple of SBH's over the years. Very solid.
There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.

Woodrow SI am sure there is a smith or machine shop than can alter the FA mount to fit a Ruger revolver for a small fee.

sputsterMillett used to make a scope mount for Blackhawks; you had to remove the rear sight and have the receiver tapped. I got one, planning to put it on my .41 Mag Blackhawk, but never got around to it, so is still in the package, not doing anything.
