I like the red dots for hunting because you don't have to have your eye in perfect alignment with the scope tube. As long as you can see the dot, it will hit.
My favorite deer bullet is the 320 gr LBT WLNGC and 21.5 grs. of 296. Hard cast with a large meplat will always outkill a jacketed bullet. WATCH THE FLAK I GET OVER THAT STATEMENT!
