Has anyone tried using Laser Cast bullets on any big game? I want to order some but would like some input on how they performed on big game. If they work I'm going to order some 300grain 44 cal bullets. Thanks

I obtained a sample of their 41 caliber bullets a while back. The quality was very good and they were very hard. I have not shot them but they should perform well. If you are looking for an excellent cast bullet for hunting, take a look at Cast Performace. Cast Performance is the bullets that Remington or Federal is using in their premium hunting line. http://www.castperformance.com/

I read a report some time back comparing the two brands. Although the details escape me at the moment, the bottom line was that the Cast Performance bullets held up better whereas the Laser Cast tended to be a bit brittle for some hunting purposes. As mentioned above, Federal uses the Cast Performance in its premium loads : must be a good reason for that.

I use the Laser 240g RNFP sized at 431 in my Redhawk and Marlin. Over the past couple of years my son and I have shot 5 whitetail with this bullet. In the 5.5in Redhawk using 9.5g of Univ Clays I get about 1100fps. This load punches a hole completly through and I have never seen a need to hump it any faster. In the Marlin, I load it with 21g of IMR4227 for about 1400 fps. More of the same on penetration. Cast bullets are not fancy but have always worked for me.
