Hello to all out there. I just purchased a Taurus Raging Bull in 480Ruger. I am still new to re-loading. For right now I am primarily just going to be target shooting getting used to it with the possibilty of hunting with it in the next few years. I have an old rcbs single stage press and was wondering what re-loading dies to use? (not to start a better brand argument), but in your opinions what would be the best bet for me? All info and input is welcome.
Thanks
Anthony

Tony, the most accurate ammo I have loaded has been with Hornady New Dimension dies with the titanium nitride sizer. I ONLY SIZE to just below where the base of the bullet is when seated. In other words, just neck size the revolver brass. These are very low price too from Midsouth. Hornady has the dimensions right for the sizer and expander dies for proper case tension. Give them a try.

I agree with the Hornady dies. This is the first set I have used was for my 480 and I will buy more. It is nice that with the 480 set you get a seperate crimping die. This was the first set of 480 dies that were the none lubing style.

Have Fun

Thanks guys. I apreciate the info and tips. I was looking into purchasing the Hornady L-N-L AP. Any thoughts or experiance with this press? I load alot of 300wby and the single stage press is killing me for as much as I load.
Thanks again
Anthony

I've loaded and shot over 1200 rounds of 454 Casull with my Lee dies without a hitch. The factory crimp works real well. I've never had a bullet slide in the crimp. I get several loads out of each piece of Starline brass which leads me to believe that the Lee dies do not over work the brass.
