Anybody have any experience with the Nosler 250 grain .44 Cal Partition HG? In particular I'm thinking hogs in the 60 to 150 pound range. How about the Swift HP A-frames? We've been using the Nosler 240 grain Jacketed Soft Point but feel we would like to have more shock without losing the penetration.

The Nosler is a good bullet. I would not use the XTP 240 gr for any big game as they open too fast. The 300 gr. is better. Personally I like a hard cast LBT style of 320 grs. You will not go wrong with this boolit.

I've used it on hogs and javelina, although in a carbine rather than a handgun.

Kills well, but I found other bullets more accurate.

Very Accurate in my 629. You lose the front core like the rifle bullets. The shank is long with a star like pedals. good comprimise with peneration and expansion. The cast LBT style will penetrate more.

My personal preference for handgun or levergun in 44mag is the Nosler 240gr JSP. I've shot hogs and deer from 100lbs to over 300lbs at ranges from 10yds to almost 100. Even on the big 300+ lb sow, the Nosler 240JSP fully penetrated both sides. It's a tough bullet. The only time I've not gotten full penetration using this bullet was with a 165lb boar I shot swuare in the shoulder at 15yds. It broke both shoulders and stopped in the muscle on the far shoulder. It expanded to 0.8" by 0.6" and retained 232 grains. Shot from my Marlin 1894 at 1800fps. One tough bullet!

...on earth as it is in Texas
