Anyone out there have any shooting experience with a 15"-16" 308 Encore pistol?

Looking for info/opinions on accuracy, recoil, barrel manufacturers (TC,MGM,Bullberry or others), forearms, grips, or anything else that might be of interest.

Thanks

I have a 15" T/C Custom Shop .308 Encore, as well as a Remington Custom Shop XP-100 in .308. Several years ago, I also owned a Savage Super Striker (that's the stainless one with the laminated wood thumbhole stock).
All have been more or less equally accurate. The .308 Win. is a fine single shot handgun caliber to hunt the world with.
I have short fingers, so the Pachmayr replacement grip and forend work best for me on the Encore.

Kenoneill,

What kind of groups can you get with it?

What's the recoil like?
I'm used to shooting 44's, 454's, 480's, and 500 JRH. Is it comparable to any of those in a heavy load?

Thanks for replying

X-caliber,

Great photos.
What kind of scope were you using on the Encore?
How about recoil?

Tag sandwiches are rather chewy and the aftertaste is completely raunchy. At best there's a bit of fiber to offer.

Felt recoil is personal of course, and much depends on the weight of the gun.If you can handle the recoil of heavy .454's and .500 JRH's you won't have any trouble with a .308.

I won't accept a load that goes over 1 1/2 MOA. Mine will usually run 1 1/4 MOA or even a bit less, and I'm not a patient person who enjoys shooting groups.

I agree with the above on recoil. I had a 308 chambered 14" Encore for a little while. I also had a 45 Colt Ruger Bisley Vaquero (old model)at the same time... comparing full house 45LC loads to factory 308 loads, recoil was certainly stouter with the 308 encore, but really wasn't adverse in any way.
As for performance on game, it should be plenty for anything you'd want to chase in the lower 48 with a single shot handgun...
Hope that helps a little.
