every ruger I buy needs an action job all the .45s I have have had the chambers opened. All my single actions rugers have a belt mountain pin. Its normal for the ruger to be a little loose a good gunsmith can deal with that too but shoot it first and see how it does. The grip work Ruger does is terrible. Lett Grips has a good selection of Ruger grips they are the company that Ruger gets theres from. I have bought two sets of burl walnut grips from them and they both had really nice figure and fit alot better if your looking for perfect fit again its to the gunsmith. Dont be afraid to do a little fitting on your own the stainless guns can be eaily fixed if you scatch them a little.

I bought my Bisley/Vaquero in .45 Colt a couple years ago. I looked at all the tables at the big Tulsa gun show but nobody had the case hardened frame with the faux ivory grips. I finally bought one with the right finish but wood grips. Then I went to Lett grips and bought what I wanted. I even got them with the Ruger medallion. They sell some nice stuff at Lett. I would really like to try some of the micarta grips but they are close to $100. http://www.lettgrips.com/ Gregg

FWIW.... I've been reaming (mostly Ruger ) .45 Colt throats to .4525" at a low price, with the proceeds going to a trust fund set up for the sons of a fellow shooter and friend, killed on 9/11, Lt. Peter Martin FDNY ( http://www.sixgunner.com/gallery/sept11.htm ) $20 for the first, $10 for each additional. ($5 goes for shipping, $15 to the fund.) Turn around is next day.
