Ultradot L/T on Weigand 454 base on a standard SRH 480 Ruger. After learning how to find the red dot, it works and withstands the recoil.

Hope this helps.

FA makes a mount for these. See their web site.

Naphtali -- you didn't use Ruger rings?

L/T affixes via Weaver mounting. It is not a tubular red dot sight. To affix one to a firearm, there must be a Weaver-compatible mount base used.

SAFARIKID, I put the Burris Fastfire on my S&W 500 Mag 4 inch. It held up fine. I just don't like the look of that sight on my revolver, so I took it off.
I prefer the tube Ultra dots for some reason.

I was going to try the set up that GSSP has pictures of, but once again I don't like the look of them sights on my revolvers.
I am sure they work great, but I just can't get past the look.

I don't know what I am going to do with my Burris Fastfire, maybe put it on my Turkey shotgun or on one of my Encore barrels.

personaly if i was going to buck up that much money id spend a tad more and get an aimpoint mini dot. There as strong as a tank and the battery life is about 5 years constant on so a guy doesnt have to worry about turning them on and off or them timing out on you during a hunt.

Hey Whit,

I bought the sight a few weeks prior to my Alaska hunt, got it mounted, sighted in and put a total of maybe 20-25 rounds through it. Decided to take it off since I felt it hadn't proved itself to me with time and rounds. Didn't want to give Murphy a ride to Alaska.

I just sold it last week. Sorry, I can't give more endorsement to the sight.

GSSP,thats it,Urika!! I was hoping Trijicons mnt was for BH as it doesnt say on their site...Thanks,thats what I want on my new 500 JRH is building(5" bisley ss)..I assume it is holding up to the recoil.Trijicon now has those with tritium dots/triangle,so I think that is what I want...Thanks for posting!(what is part # for base?) Want to sell dot and base? Smiler
Lloyd, you are corect, the Micro Aimpoint is tuff and small,I have 2...They are great, but even though they are very small compared to the other Aimpoints, they are bigger than these and 3x the weight.Doesnt look bit on my 6.5" Smith PC 500,but on a 2 3/4" Smith 500 or my 5" Ruger 500,I want smaller... thumb

Safarikid,

It did hold up fine through the 20-25 rounds I put through it. I still have total faith it will hold as well. Between the rock solid base the "light" weight sight, I have not doubt the small mass it represents up high won't negatively effect it's reliability.

Alas, I sold my sight last week.

I'll send an email.

I put a Weigand mount on my 4 inch 500 mag. I really like the mount. I gave the mount to my buddy for his 500 Mag.

What were you looking for, the mount or red-dot?
