Does anyone have any experience with the EMF Hartford Bisley? I am thinking of joining the El Paso Pistoleer reenactment society and would like to have a historically correct pistola, but different than the run of the mill sixguns.
I was looking through EMF promos the other day and like the looks of the 4 3/4" model in .45 Colt. "Doc" O'Meara gave the EMF Bisley a great evaluation in his book on Colt Sixguns in .38/40 caliber.
And of course, I do take my favorite handguns with me on my hunting expeditions, but mostly for fun or for backup. I haven't seriously thought about going handgun hunting until I just acquired a neato custom Ruger SBH in .44 mag. I got a Vaquero to go with it, but that gun is a bummer all around and it's up for sale on consignment.
Should anybody care to comment on the EMF Bisley, regarding quality, fit and finish, please do so and I will definitely consider your responses in making a decision.
Also, it would be nice to know what load levels the Hartford Bisley can be loaded to. I was thinking right around nine hundred fps would be nice all around load. I am thinking that maybe H 4227 or Blue Dot may serve well for modest loads in The Colt clones.
