I have decided to put a sight onto my casull, though I am somewhat undecided on what type. 2x scope of holo/red dot... I am not the greatest pistol shooter, though I am very accurate out to about 15m, about 1inch groups(offhand). Maybe with a scope I could extend this out to 50m? Whats the concensus here about scopes Vs holo?

EXPRESS, A 2x scope is great for hunting but for you .454 Casull du to the recoil the scope rings are as important as the scope. That takes time to aim very well and very quickly offhands over 50 m for people not using it very often. If you want a red dot ideal for fast shooting Aimpoint is the best but Bushnell isn't bad at all. I have a Bushnell Trophy red dot on my Desert Eagle .50 AE, works great. You can forget Tasco Optima and Busnell Holo sight, not reliable at all. I can tell you that because I have lots of firends in IPSC and they had lots of problems with their .38 Super auto with these 2 models. You can imagine these 2 models with your .454 casull

I have a Bushnell Holosight on my Smith 44 Magnum and my good friend has a Bushnell Holosight on his Raging Bull 454 Casull and we have had zero problems in two years using it. I am also using a Bushnell Trophy 2X fixed scope on my 475 Linebaugh without a single problem. Good luck.

Express, I hae a 2nd gen holo on my 454 and has worked great so far tryed the Tasco, and it went tits up in 20 rounds. Have replaced it with the new Doctor Optice sight that mounts the same and it has worked great on the 375jdj

My Simmons 4x did not survive after maybe 100-200 or so rounds in the Taurus 454. Maybe it was something I did, I don't know.
