I had a herd of deer come out above and to the left of me today. A large doe stopped to feed in the only clear spot. I decided to take the shot. I was standing in my tree stand and shot offhand with my BFR .475 Linebaugh revolver. The deer was between 100 and 120 yd's. I figured a 4" drop so I aimed center of her chest. She jumped at the shot and ran towards me, stopping just above me behind a lot of brush. In seconds, she crashed through all of the deadfalls and layed down 15 yd's away and died. I hit 4" below center chest but a little left through the diaphragm. The bleeding was massive. I used a hard cast 430 gr WLNGC boolit from my home made mould with 26 grs of 296.

Congrats on the hunt. If ignorance is bliss; there are some blissful sonofaguns around here. We know who you are, so no reason to point yourselves out.
