Guys
Anyone going on the Lions tour?
I have tickets for the final test in Joburg. My prediction is a series victory for the Lions 2 - 1.

I noticed you posted this after the first test! Maybe you weren't quite so sure last week?
I think 3-0 is a definate possibility!

Heartbreak - Two teams of warriors at it hammers and tong for 80 minutes of nail-biting sport. Hats off to the world champs.

Maybe next week, just for the shirt.

As you say, a good match. That Burger bloke needs to have the rules explained to him though. Confused

I see Berger got an 8 week ban for eye gouging and Botha a 2 week ban for that illegal charge.

Quite right too! thumb

AAII the pommies(shakari) if they cant beat us they banned us or throw our people in concentration camps. just joking

Gerard this weekend end was a great game of rugby but cant we allowed a few fist fights in any game just to sort everyone out and stop shoving and grabbing each other that no17 of the lions wouldnt been in the game 10 years ago.

Regards
Luan

8 weeks for Burger is no loss to SA rugby...

He is way off his best form and there are more than a couple of guys that will out play him.

I did not see the tackle Bakkies made so cant comment on that.

Hope to see a lot of running rugby for the last game.

Burger actually pisses me off. He's a talented player but just wants to break the rules all the time....... one day, he's gonna cripple someone. Roll Eyes

I have to say, I wasn't aware of the rule but according to TV today, the correct penalty for eye gouging nowadays is an immediate sending off, and if that had happened, I'm sure we'd have seen a very different game. Gotta say, I didn't think much of the ref.

The illegal charge resulted in one of the Lions having a dislocated shoulder, so it was quite serious.

Let's hope for a cleaner game next time!

Tough game - Lions seemed to have cracked the problems they had with the breakdown and falling foul there that had bugged them earlier in the tour.

With no front row, no centres and the entire back division playing out of position in teh last 10 minutes they had a tough job holding on. Excellent entertaining game - a draw would have been a fair result. sport ain't fair.

BTW how sweet of Mrs Botha to name her boy asfer their pick-up trucks.

I just wished the Lions had played the last 20 of the second test like they played the last 20 of the first test.

With all the injuries in the Lions camp I just cannot see it being a close game on Staurday.

Prediction - 3-0 to the Boks, which I think flatters them slightly, as there were times in the past two tests when the Boks were under the cosh. The Boks scored more points on the day, and some of their defensive tackles were brilliant but I think the Lions deservered to go home with one test win.
One thing is certain - I'll be at the game and subsequently sipping refreshing lager somewhere in Joburg late into the night.

Well, I'm glad to see the Lions won but sad to see that SA's observance of the rules was still sadly lacking......... As for the standard of refereeing, I thought that was simply abysmal!
