This is a beautiful and nearly perfectly laid out 2 piece stock set of Feather Crotch American Black walnut. This set of wood was purchased by a good friend 25 years ago at the Reinhart Fajen liquidation auction in 1998 and this is one of the best.

The set is all tight grained Dark Reddish Brown heartwood. No sapwood ,large knots or bark pockets. It is a very stabile peice of wood with no cracks or checks -even in the crotch section. It has Beautiful multi colored crotch grain in the butt section with perfect grain flow through the wrist . The figure in the forend that matches the grain in the forward section of the butt with good grain flow as well.

Buttstock blank is 2.0" thick x 15.75" long by 6.75" deep at tge butt. The forend is 11.75" long x 2.25 H"X 2.25" thick".


Note that Buttstock blank is not thick enough for a stock with cheekpiece but at 15.75" long it is enough for almost ANY gun with a two piece stock including Over-unders Savage m99s, Ruger Number Ones and Sharps rifles.

The forend is long enough for just about any type of Over funder, lever gun or single shot forend.
