Ray I'm not going to post a picture as they are brand new look like they have never been used, certainly not by me. The newer RCBS square green box, not dated like the older ones, there is a star on the sizing die, dot on the seater followed by the number 4. If not satisfied send them back.

Otherwise I will make 280 out of new WW 30-06

That's what I do. Works better than starting with actual .280 brass IMO since you can set your sizing die to leave a "false shoulder" to perfectly headspace in your chamber. My rifle shoots the same nice, tight groups whether the brass is on its first or a subsequent firing.

Also, while the .30-06 brass is shorter, it lengthens just a little when you neck it down. Even so, it is still a bit shorter than factory .280 brass, but that just means it will take more firings before it needs trimming.

Besides, '06 brass is much easier to find and usually less expensive.

In my experience using '06 brass for a .280 is a win-win-win.

But it will have the wrong headstamp you say! Yeah, I'll admit that is can be a problem keeping my .280 ammunition separate from my .25-06's and .270's made from the same '06 brass. But I rarely confuse any of them with my 8x57 ammunition made with '06 cases due to the larger bullet and shorter case. Not to mention my actual .30-06 ammunition. Big Grin

Here's a photo from L to R: Unformed .30-06; formed to .280 and loaded (note false shoulder for proper headspacing); fired in .280 chamber. Notice how the formed brass is appropriately a little longer than the parent brass. I've found absolutely no difference on the chronograph, the paper, or the game between first firing after forming and subsequent firings of fireformed brass.

Let me have a look in my shop. I believe I have some 280 brass and some of the older stuff that has the 7mm Express head stamp.
I think I have about 40 pieces but I do not know how much about it. I'll dig thru my stuff if you are interested in it.
