Thanks

The Portuguese 1904 is a standard length bottom metal like the Argentine 1909, the only difference being they used captive screws and the lever release has a button on it.

I’ve been working on a modified Swedish Mauser trigger guard but at the moment don’t have anything ready.

Mr. Myers, I sure wish you would produce some steel Howa bottom metal.

If you can get enough interest together to justify making a batch, I am all ears.

Will your Commercial in the Bow lever release work in a commercial FN action? It was originally a Higgins 50. If so I will take one.

I would have to see a picture to be sure, but most likely no, this would not work. The FN hinged floorplate used a different style lever in the bow. It is much narrower and smaller and not interchangeable.

the bow has a similar push release in the trigger Gaurd but does not have the knob on it so you have to just push on the metal strip.

I'd take a couple of the HOWA steel floorplates.
Maybe you could get Brownells to sell em.

1909 Bottom metal isn't plentiful and when one does find one it isn't cheap either (I have three so I know). What would really be nice would be if you also made a true copy of the 1909 Trigger guard that could be welded to a regular Model 90 bottom metal ( for a fair price).

I've had exactly 2 people in 2 years ask for anything Howa related, and while I fully appreciate that there are more Howa fans out there, the market simply doesn't seem to justify it.

As I mentioned before, I am happy to do a batch if you can round up enough people to justify it. Or if you want to pay to produce a batch, we can discuss it.

I have a design made up, I have steel on the rack, I just need time and $$$ to make them. The design should work on just about any Mauser trigger guard. The assembly keys into place, is pinned, and welded. I'll have to make a couple prototypes and destroy them to see how they hold up before they go to market.
