More Spring Cleaning ...

An original 95% takeoff walnut buttstock from a Savage 99... guessing 1970 - 1980's vintage in very nice shape with original factory finish. Has OEM basket-weave checkering in the pistol grip. Walnut stock only - ready for fitting a buttpad/plate.

A really nice uncut original stock that will clean up well... Asking $160 + shipping or Best Offer.

First I'll take it + PM gets it.

Thanks,
Jeff P

Does anyone know if this will fit (correctly, without modification) on a 1948 Savage M99 250-3000 rifle?

Update:
It appears that this buttstock won't fully seat on the receiver of my older 250-3000. It stops about 1/4" from from proper fit. Does anyone on this forum know if this is easy to fix/inlet . . (or not)?

You can fit this stock to ann older gun by careful trimming and inletting.

Pfeifer is a good guy to work with. While this particular offering didn't work out for my application, he spent a more-than-reasonable amount of effort trying to work out options with me - a very pleasant gentleman with whom to discuss and investigate ideas . . .

I tried this buttstock on my 1950 Sav 99EG (.250-3000) and that's the one that it wouldn't quite fully seat without modification. So as posted, I believe this stock will fit the post .308/.243/.358 changes that occurred in the mid/latter part of the 1950's. It's cut for a thicker rear top rcvr tang than my 1950 99EG has.
I've used Min Wax Wood Sheen for touch ups/blending several times on other stocks and have had good success with it.
Regards!
