I have 3 vintage Leupold scopes that I’d like to sell but don’t know a price

M8 - 4 power - it has some purpling on the metal - but glass is great -few scratches on metal - solid scope - duplex

M8 -6 power- few scratches on metal - but great glass - has the older type post and ccrosshair

2 - 7 power Vari -X IIc - been on several rifles - always kept zero - glass is excellent - this scope has a set of Weaver dovetail mounts on it also - duplex

I’ve had these in the safe for a while- I always used lens paper and a leanse duster to clean the lenses

Also a set Of Sako integral bases and rings for a 1” tube - dovetail for the Sako L61 Finnbear - been on the rifle since 1970- no scratches - high polish- took them off in order to get a scope with larger objective - these are low mounts

Anybody have an idea on the price

Going to a gun show and needed some assistance

Thanks

Many do not view vintage scopes as collectors items as newer scopes with advanced glass and adjustments are what most want. Now, if someone is trying to set up a vintage rifle with a period scope, you may find a buyer. I would expect you to have offers of $150 - $200 each on your scopes. The Sako rings may bring you $50.

The 2-7 in silver goes over $500. Haven't really followed the black ones in that model

Take photos of each and post them in the Optics section asking your questions there. You'll get opinions (worth at least what you paid for them) and probably some PM-ed offers.

I buy a few used Leupolds from time to time, and $150 to $200 for the fixed 4Xs at gun shows and pawn shops and locally. thats a bargain as one can send them back to Leupold and they will repair or send you a new one..the 2x7 varibles get about $200 to $250 depending on condition and model number..

A discontinued 3X will get $200 to $300 and a 2.5X Leupold Alaskan in a wood box fetches $500 to $950. or more!
