I know this is a long shot but I’m in need of a 8x57 jr reamer. This would be the smaller diameter .318 bore version with a rim. Will rent or buy out right from someone

I have an old German single shot that has a chamber that is just a few thousands short of chambering.

I would just cut some off the sizing die. Make the brass fit the chamber.

That is a great idea and if I can’t find a reamer I will go that direction. The only reason for my hesitation is someone has essentially restored this single shot rifle to like new condition so it seems a shame not to have it chamber standard ammo if possible

Is it the rim or the shoulder stopping it from chambering?

My 8mm reamer has a solid pilot. Frowny face here.

I ended up filing down the shell plate to make the brass. Just thought that might be easier to file the the die. Thanks for the great idea and easy fix!
