Didn't they just block the magazine for the .308's? The one I had in 243 was just a standard mauser with a spacer in the mag box. I'm sure I have an FN stock, might have a recoil pad on it, not sure.

Ray, I have a stock from a Whitworth that MIGHT work. If you want, ask your son John to get in touch with me + if he wants, he can look at it + see if it will work. Might save a little time that way.

Steve and Norman,
Please send pictures to me at rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com
Its a standard FN Supreme with a block in it for a 250-3000, The original stock as best I recall had a single cross bolt and low comb commercial model on the lines of a Browning..I want a classic style stock, not a monte carlo.

Norm,
John lives in McAllen these days...

I’m near Norman Conquest. I can meet him with an FN action to check fit.

Where is the safety on the Whitworth ? side or wing

that would work if he has an action.

Ray, I sent you some pics. Did you get them? I didn't look, but I'm pretty sure it is inletted for a side safety, as this is for a commercial Whitworth 98. If it looks like you think you can use it, I can send it to you + you can decide if it will work. If so, we can work out a price, if not you can just send it back. Let me know what you want to do. Best, Randy.
