this thing will probably never pay for itself unless you have industry knowledge
with no manufacturing knowledge in the gun industery would probably be better to buy a sewing machine
i hear there is a good market for hot pads and aprons

I was interested in this duplicator and thought I would provide the insightful response that Logger2 provided to my question:

I may not have any experience in the gunstock business, but based on his response, I can say I won't be doing any business with him.

I would still love for someone who knows the gunstock business to explain to me how this single spindle machine can clear $333/hr in profit (assuming your one day is a 12hr one).

Clearly, as Logger2 has stated, I don't know business, so would love for someone to clear it up for me, as it is not obvious.

So a guy came to your shop, and used this machine to duplicate 4 stocks, which he charged you $4200 for 11.5 hrs of labor?

Last month he duplicated one stock in an hour and a half and charged you $4100 (I'm assuming that isn't $41,000 as you posted)?

It sounds like the golden ticket is coming to your shop and using this duplicator and charging you for the work. I don't know anyone who would pay $4100 for a duplicated stock, and that is why this whole conversation has me so curious.

I'd have to think the guy doing those stocks on this duplicator would want to buy it?

It would help to know where you are.

Yes, many times the $ don't print and the 4 does.

Thanks.

You don't owe me anything, and don't worry, I'm not after your secrets, they'll die with you. I learned plenty of my trades "secrets" when I served my apprenticeship. I share them willingly to anyone that wants to learn.

You do owe it to someone who wants to buy your machine to explain how they can pay it off in one day. It's disingenuous to say that they can, but then say someone else can do it, on a different machine, with trade secrets that you won't share.

Which is fine, if your not willing to share your experience, that knowledge should die with you. That's how trades die.

Some of us choose to share it to elevate the next generation.

it would require customer aquisition
i offered to pay anyone with a duplicator to make me 4 stocks really wanted 6 stocks at 6 grand
which can be duplicated in one day
a dAY is not 12 hours in my life its 16-18 plus
it dont matter what duplicator
i should have said in the property enviroment such as a gunstock manu
i called several companies all too busy
no $4000 dollar stocks out there ??
there sure is alot of 4--5---6--7-- thousand dollar blanks on the market
whan i bought a ton of micron computers for the business i asked them for trade secrets
im sure those secrtets only cost them a billion dollars
they laughed at me
most dont realize handing out trade secrets could backfire and cause a company to close
