Yeah I know it's off the charts here.

What I am looking for came on the OLD wringer type washing machines long before most of us were born.
I have looked for one of these several years
everywhere I can think of.

Any chance one of you guys might have such junk laying around? I sure would like to find one.

They are a clamshell design with two halves that bolt together, belt driven.

Thank you,

George

George, take a look here and see if there's anything that will work. Several are belt driven.

Ask the guy at Ingle's. There is an old wringer machine out in front of his place that has been there for years. Also there is Ebay.

I have a few water pumps out of L134 flathead jeep engines; that should work.

Are you specifically looking for a wringer washer drain pump such as this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/373928794654

or are you looking for a belt driven pump that you have a purpose for and would have a use for something newer that will work reliably without fiddling and most likely cheaper:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/155486600707

for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

More info is apparently needed.

Thanks guys.

Back in '85 I reopened an old shallow well from when this whole block was a farmers corn field irrigated from this old well.

Next door neighbor had used one off his mothers wringer washer to suck up the water and run a hose to water the grass. He gave it to me with the original 1/4hp motor both mounted on a board.

I ran it almost ten years from spring thaw, til it froze up in the winter NONSTOP all those months and years. Finally the motor burned up. I gave the pump back and he sold it.

I don't know for sure but, seems like it pumped about 5gpm. Could have been 2-3gpm, too long ago to recall for sure. Just a decent amount with one small sprinkler on 200 feet of hose we took turns watering four yards.

Like most inexperienced guys. I had the notion there was an endless amount of water and put a bunch of money in a way too big pump and ran the hole dry, burning the impeller up. I have tried quite a few pumps, all have been too big. I just haven't found the right size yet. The local pump seller can't find one that small. H/F sold one that was a POS that wouldn't suck from 5 feet deep even though it looked about right and was only $25.

I figure IF I could find another like he had it would be about right again. It HAS to suck only about 18 feet.

One guy from e'bay sells them for the Amish, claims neither they nor he will send pictures. I am not about to pay a big price without seeing what it looks like first.

Hope this clears things up enough.

Thank you all. I live about a half mile from Ingles, will drop by, thank you or that.

George
