[size:17pt]GALAZAN WALL THICKNESS GAUGE

I purchased this from Galazan's about 20 years ago. It has been an extremely useful tool in my workshop. Show here with and without a barrel. The 28" Fox 12 ga. barrel is being measured about 12" from the muzzle. The at this point the wall thickness varies from .032" to .041" as the barrel is rotated around, the being thickest near the top rib. With this gauge the wall thickness can be measured nearly anywhere from 2" to a full 17" from either end. The entire length of the barrel can be reached.
The unit weighs 14 1/4 lbs. This stable format allow both hands to align and secure the barrel in the gauge. It also makes it easy to rotate the barrel or move ups and down to quickly measure any suspect spot or area on the length of the barrel. The Dial Indicator reads in thousandths of an inch.
By nature of the need this gauge has seen little use over the years but has shown more than one barrel with thin spots. More than one barrel has gone for sleeving after being measured.
Proving one single barrel as unsafe covers the cost of the gauge.
I've seen these vertical gauge offered recently at $650. A pain to ship I am offering this For Sale within driving distance of Livingston, Montana. I am willing to drive 150+- miles to meet a buyer for a face-to-face sale. The price is $495.Please post, I'll take it with follow up PM~
Thanks,
