If any of you are in the market for a custom build and you are looking to buy a blank, contact my friend David Boles. He is thinning out his stash, as he decided he will no longer be cutting wood. I know the number 72 and number 53 blanks have already been sold. Other than those, I am not sure. I am sorry, I cannot tell you all which ones. I would suggest calling him as these are going quickly You have a better chance if you get a hold of him by phone, rather through email. If you are interested his contact is: email: qualitycut@outlook.com phone: (530) 586-1329 https://i.imgur.com/FXiIxH4.jpg https://i.imgur.com/mzGwXxK.jpg https://i.imgur.com/EEUy2fm.jpg https://i.imgur.com/yite5z1.jpg https://i.imgur.com/79Vrdoa.jpg https://i.imgur.com/EUsK0B5.jpg https://i.imgur.com/XKVYMZ0.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Oc2H5VL.jpg

Just out of curiosity, how can you tell they are not English blanks?? I am only asking because I do not know. I can’t tell by looking at them. I hear that Claro doesn’t really hold its tolerances very well when it comes to stock making. Way distinguishes English from others..??

The fiddleback is a dead giveaway for one. The color is another (very reddish), and they don't look like English. Nothing wrong with Claro, and those are very nice blanks, but I use only English because all of the rifles I build are heavy kickers, 375 H&H and way up. Claro doesn't have the strength like English. From the area code of his phone number (530) he is in the heart of English walnut country though.

Ahh!! Gotcha. David lives in Northern California and claims he has traveled the world far and wide to find these trees so he could bring this wood back to the states. As far as prices are concerned, Tom, that’s a question for the guy holding the wood. I just posted on his behalf. I do know that these blanks have been selling anywhere from $500 to close to $1,000 per stick..
