Zastava M70 Left Hand Mauser – 3 Position Safety
Part # Z3L
A new machined sleeve from Chrome Moly Steel. This safety has the side swing lever like the Classic Winchester Safety. A Precision machined unit that is left polished in the white for final finishing. The sleeve has been machined from pre heat treated steel, while the lever has been carefully heat treated and tempered for long life. This allows for low scope use, while retaining the gas deflecting design and shape of the Mauser sleeve. It will upgrade the Factory Zastava M70 Mauser rifle.
This Safety will only fit the Left Hand Zastava M70 Mauser rifles
Positive detents in the lever for the FIRE (forward) safe (middle) positions. The middle position is safe, while allowing the bolt to be opened and the rifle unloaded. Moving the lever all the way to the rear position, (safe) forces the plunger forward which locks the bolt from opening, and puts the lever in the rear SAFE position.
This safety uses the original firing pin, firing pin spring, and cocking piece as well as the old sleeve lock, and spring.
Requires installation by a qualified person, minor machining work is required to the rear of the bolt and the cocking piece for proper installation. Detailed fitting instructions are included with each safety. A spare safety plunger, safety plunger spring, and cross pin are supplied. This Safety is 100% made in the USA, from USA sourced steel.

As of 1/1/2023

Cost is $ 185.00, plus $ 10.00 shipping and Insurance
Payment by Cashier’s Check, or Money Order
Personal or Business Check also accepted, but will be held a few days to clear before item shipped.

USA sales only

Jim,

Do you fit them yourself?

About 30 years ago you repaired a broken bolt handle on my left handed Remington 788. I just thought that you'd like to know that it still works.

Mr. King
I added my cell # to the above info if you wish to talk about these safeties.

Currently on Gun Broker the Left Hand Zastava action for sale has one of these safeties on it, if you wish to see what they look like installed.

My slow mail info is in the first thread, as for cost of the safety, and where to mail the funds.

Frank.
Great to here about the 788 still going strong, yes I repaired LOTS of those bolt handles over the years.

Yes I do install these M70 3 position safeties on your action, will PM you.

I’ve had Jim do several of these for my guns. I had him fit them as no one can make this safety work like Jim can. They are butter smooth in operation snd function flawlessly. I strongly suggest you have Jim fit them even if you think you can do it yourself.
