Whats the scoop on long range competition with the old buffalo type rifles? I seen some mention of CAS while looking at the rifles, but very little mention of use of the rifles in CAS disgussions.. Is this something that is mostly done with the lever guns or another aspect of CAS altogether?

Edmond and Ol Bull, I have received the Uberti I ordered in 38/40 WCF just on time for Christmas: - Winchester 1873 Sporting Rifle, Octogonal 28" charcoal blue barrel, nice walnut furniture. - Frontier 1873 5.5 " barrel - Bisley 7.5 " barrel I shot 600 rounds last week end, they are smooth and accurate, chambers are perfectly polished and spent brass does not stick. I used BlackHills and WW. I will reload using the Fiocchi .40 .180 grains and the copper coated 180 grains I use for my modern pistols. If I can get a Win 1887 or a Win 1901 shotgun, I will be the happiest shooter in the area. I called a dealer in US but he did not want to export to Europe. regards Harold.

Thank you, already 2 years since I posted in this thread ( Oct 02). I stock now the Uberti line for more than one year. I have been really surprised by the quality of their products. I am trying to get a 1887/1901 for myself too and to distribute the modern replicas; I did not find any US dealer/wholesaler willing to export one yet. Merry Christmas.
