Man, I like that trap game! Wish I'd thought of that. My son (6) and I built a couple more SpudScuds last weekend, incorporating some changes from the prototype that's served so well for the last year or two. First, I decreased the bore size from 2" to 1.5". It's too hard to find potatoes 2" in every dimension so you end up picking thru the bag, using only a third of them. With the inch and a half bore, you can use them all. Besides that, the muzzle velocity went up from 125 fps to 175 and the range increased by a similar proportion. Recoil is significantly less too. Second, I built one long barrelled one and a shorty for the kid, both 1.5" bore. Guess what? The shorty shoots nearly the same as the other, twice as long. Weird. From now on, I'm building 1.5" bore guns with an 18" barrel. Just my meandering observations, Redial | ||
