CamoManJI guess the question that remains is, did you shoot that poor hard drive out of frustration or pleasure?

gohip2000it was out of pleasure and a favor. My mother wanted to get rid of her bad hard drive and was worried about people being able to get data off of it. I said, "I'll take care of it."
I emailed her the pictures and she liked what she saw.
The first shot was exactly through the axis of the data discs. This is the shot that did the big damage. I saw that the discs were still pretty well in tact, so I had to put one through the actual discs.

Fat_AlbertIt looks like the HD when I took it out of my old computer.

ForrestBThat was quicker and a lot more fun than running a data scrubber.

sagiI've seen pictures of what looked like a 230gr 45 wedged into a hdd. might make some good armor plating on a budget?
beware some older hdd's have glass platters in them.

I don't know, I just bought a .223. I'll have to get another hard drive and find out. I'll be sure to have the .416 in case it puts up a fight.

270Model70I just took my old hard drives out and beat them senseless with a small sledgehammer.
What the hell was I thinking - I own a .416 and missed out on some good fun.
