I've had so much fun shooting it's hard to remember what was the most fun. One time my best buddy, Stoney, and I were hunting rabbits with revolvers. He had a S&W of some sort and I had a Ruger Blackhawk. We were both loaded with 38 spcls. We came upon a 40 acre field that was buried in 3 feet of crusted snow. There was a cross wind and for some reason I had a pocketful of balloons in my parka (I did party once in a while back then). I walked upwind and unleashed a half dozen inflated balloons. While they skipped across the crusted snow Stoney opened up on them. when he was done we traded positions, etc, etc. We ran out of ammo for the hunt but 6 months later I was back on the same field. There was a coyote hunting mice, at the same range, in the same wind, I had the same six gun with the same load-deja vu all over again. The moral of the story: fun shooting is FUN and it pays off. INterestingly Stoney had some wad cutters loaded backward-for expansion he thought-we traced the little pock mark trail of those bullets across the snow for several hundred yards. Apparently they were flipping end over end-oh about every foot or so-didn't stop until they hit trees on the opposite side of the field. Kind of looked like weasel tracks but we actually found a couple slugs at the end of the trail, laying as nice as could be right on top the snow.
