I like RL22 in my 24 1/2" barrel, but in my Sako 22 5/8" barrel it still shoots well, but seems to leave lots of powder residue in the barrel. Anyone with a short barrel on a 7mm Rem Mag have a pet load with decent speed & accuracy? Right now I load 68gr RL 22 & a 140gr Nosler BT. In my 24 1/2" I get an average of 3275 FPS with a 3 shot cloverleaf. Barrel stays fairly clean too. This however is a custom 1-9 barrel & not a stock 1-9.5 barrel like my 22 5/8" Sako The 22 5/8" Sako will cloverleaf the above load too, but at a 3065 FPS average & lots of powder residue. I am thinking IMR4350, or RL19 which I have some of both may be a better option. My only fear with RL19 is in my experience I have been able to get good accuracy out of it, but have never gotten near the speeds they say in loading manuals Out of the testing I did in my 24 1/2" 7mm, I was finding a max load barely made 3100 FPS while the manual says 3300 FPS? That's why I switched to RL22, I picked up 200 FPS & maintained the accuracy. With a 22 5/8" barrel I am afraid RL19 won't go over 3000 FPS with a 140gr May as well shoot a 30/06 or 270 then Here are a couple photos of the little gem. ______________________ Did I mention I love Sako's

I don't have such a rifle but IMR4831 & H4831 have always given me better accuracy than RL19 in my 280 w/ 23"bbl. I would look there. It's just a bit faster than RL22. LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!
