I'm just getting ready to fire form brass for my new 30-06 ackley. None of my reloading manuals have data(surprise). I hear rl22 is one of the better powders for this. Looking for any data and hoping to use my 165 grain barnes tsx bullets. If not those bullets, then I have some 180 grain Hornady interlocks. Thanks in advance

From the Nosler #5 manual. 165 bullet IMR4350 start 55gr max 59gr R-19 56.5 to 60.5 H4831 58.5 to62.5 * most accurate powder 180gr bullet R-22 58 to 62 fastest 2985 at max loading H4831 56 to 60 Hope that helps

Rule of thumb for AI chambers is to use the data for the parent cases max loads as your starting point, this is what I have always done in my AI/Improved cases and it works a charm. I would guess RE19 will yield very accurate results, every 06 case I’ve used it in has impressed me immensely, I would probably start with that powder if it were me. Cheers.

With the 165 TSX & 180 gr cup & core bullets I load IMR 4350. 60.5 gr & 165 TSX gets me 3000 fps. Not pushing the envelope either. Never had much luck with RL 22. The Nosler #4 manual has good data on the 30-06 imp. Be careful if you have P.O. Ackley's Data. He was pretty optimistic. Hang on TITE !!

I,d use RL26 or Norma MRP. MRP should be more accurate and RL26 will give greater velocity.
