I thought I would post what I've done to clean cases.

On another thread a poster recommended using a Product by IOSSO I was very impressed on how quickly it did clean the outside and inside of the cases. I was less than thrilled about the primer pockets, but overall a fine product that makes quick work of cleaning cases. After rinsing the cases I dried them in the oven.

I considered buying a Lee Zip Trim just to be able to spin the cases and polish them.

What I found was that a sized case and a bullet, ogive pointed out, chucked up in my cordless drill does a dynamite job of holding and spinning the case! I tried to locate some FLITZ. None was available near me. On a recommendation of a clerk at a local Auto Zone I bought some Never Dull Polish It is impregnated cotton strips that you pull out of the can. A good tuft of the stuff did over 50 cases, 404 Jeffery, 450/400 3 inch, 9.3X74R, and 300 Apex.

I might mention that the 9.3X74R cases were not cleaned in the IOSSO. They were already primed. I tried the Never Dull on them. Worked great!

Polishing took only 6 seconds on the case with Never Dull, and the rest of the time was buffing with a cotton rag (Surgical Lap). I usually averaged 4 cases in 3 minutes.

I hope some of you will try this.

I'm more the cheaper end of the market at the moment, spin the case up with the Lee drill holder doodad, apply old scouring pad with a dribble of vinegar on it to the neck for the burnt on carbon. Quick dunk in water then a dunk and spin in a bag of steel wool. Achieves the same thing. Great for the odd 20 but drawn out if you're a little busy range wise. Then again, who can afford to fill the air with hot lead any more?

Very shiny, Rusty. I've got one of those Harbor Freight ultra-sonic cleaners (the 2.5-litre one). Cleans the primer pocket out really well if you have them deprimed (of course) and let them run through about a dozen cycles. I'm off doing other things; I don't sit there waiting for it to finish the present cycle before kicking it off on the next one. For sixty bucks (when on sale) they are one fine thing to have to clean brass. I can fit I reckon 200 .223 cases and about 300 .45ACP cases in it at a time. The more I put in, the longer it takes to clean them. For guys who top out at 50-100 cases, cleaning them to having the insides look like they've never been fired might be just five or six cycles...

I have the same ultra sonic cleaner from Harbor Freight. My son in law has it now. I really like the way it cleans the primer pockets. I am anxious to see how this IOSSO work with the Ultra sonic cleaner. I think it would be very fast.

I like the Iosso stuff alot too, but you're right on about the primer pockets and its not cleaning them very well. That's my only complaint with the stuff.

Go over to the "Cast Boolit" site and look under the "Shooters" heading at the "sticky" on Citric acid . You will be amazed!

I have used IOSSO for years on very dirty brass. It is re-usable many times over and works like magic.

I can only imagine what it could do in an ultrasonic for 5 minutes.

Remember the brass strait from the IOSSO will loose it's shine quickly. Follow up with a overnight vibro ride in corn cob and Nu-Finish.
