I am a new reloader and have worked up 350 gr TSX and Solids for my 375 Ruger for an August Cape Buff hunt to Zim. The max loads showed no pressure signs at all at MT's 50-60 degree weather. At the range this weekend I saw some pressure signs (ejector mark, primers ok) for the 350 gr TSX load, 75 gr H414, 2369 fps. The 350 solids, 78 gr Hunter, 2417 fps were still ok. My question is this: will dropping 1 gr be enough for 90+ temps in Zim? It seems that the temp sensitivity is likely to replace any lost velocity. I'm not sure we will get any 90+ temps here in MT to test before the hunt and was looking for the experience of others as I don't need a stuck bolt but want to keep the velocity above 2300 fps. Thanks! I hunt to live and live to hunt! | ||
