Primer Sealer

I am considering using primer sealer on my hunting reloads. A couple of questions for AR members. My initial use would be for my .458WM and an African buffalo hunt.

What are your thoughts and experiences with primer sealers? Any miss or hang fires? Is it necessary?

Also, I have seen primer sealer for sale at Cabelas, Midway, etc but was wondering if standard clear women's nail lacquer is the same thing for much less cost.

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

Thanks,

RCG

RCG-

A couple of comments:

Been handloading for 25 years and have never used primer sealer.

Even in your application of an African Safari and I am guessing here, you are probably in more of a plains game setting, would you even need primer sealer? I'm not sure when the wet season would be, however. But, with a Buffalo, why leave anything to chance, not a good time for a primer to be a dud.

May the wind be in your face and the sun at your back.

Thye only time I have ever used a sealer is when I was loading .44 Magnums for my Bang-Stik while SCUBA diving.

And then I used the cheapest red fingernail polish.

Not only did I seal the primer, but I also sealed around the crimp.
