I've had a .220 swift or two over the years and have suddenly found myself coming down with another one. What is the powder of choice these days ? Thanks..

Depends on your bullet weight. http://stevespages.com/page8c.htm [ 04-23-2003, 23:03: Message edited by: ricciardelli ]

I own (3) Swifts and I have tried all the powders, bullets, weights, barrels, primers, brass and so on and so on. These guns are my primary arsenal for hog hunting. I shoot about 400 rounds a week in prime season for hogs, which is from April to first week in June, so I have some experience with loads for this round. My favorite load is as follows. Brass: Norma first choice, WW Super second choice Primer: CCI Bench Rest Trim Length: 2.205 O.C.L: No.1 gun = 2.777, No.2 gun = 2.780, No.3 gun = 2.775, all like to be .001 off the lands Turned Neck diam: .228 Powder type: RL-15 Charge Weight: No.1 gun = 40gr, No2. = 39gr, No.3 gun = 38gr Bullet = 1st choice = Combined Tech Ballistic Tip Bullet = 2nd choice = Sierra Blitz King Ballistic Tip Bullet weight: Combined = 50gr, Sierra = 55gr Groupings: No.1 gun shoots .150 3-shot groups @ 100yds, No.2 gun shoots .170 groups, and No.3 shoots .200 groups Hope this helps.
