Since this topic get the most hits,I thought it would be the best place to get the word out on a sale at Harbor Freight Tools. If you live in US and have a store near you they have a great pair of shooting ear muffs for $1.99. They are realy nicely made, good for 23dB, and equal to a $18 or $19 pair. I picked up three pair. No' I don't have anything to do with Harbor Freight. Check it out. I am just letting everyone know. PS: they have them on their web sight.

Thanks for the info. If I didn't have enough ear muffs I'd be buying some. I've dealt with Harbor Freight many times. I once bought a set of screwdrivers from them for something like $5 or $6. Since then, I've seen the same set advertised in many catalog as "gunsmith screwdrivers" for about $25. It would be nice to boycott China and some other places but then you'd have to boycott many more stores than Toys R Us, etc.

Dr. K. Is there something wrong with China's industrial revolution march? Are we and Europe the only places allowed to become industrialized? Have you talked to your stock broker lately. Mine is strongly recommending investing in China! If oil prices are high we have only to look at ourselves! I thought we believed in capitalism and free enterprise, or is that only if it is American capitalism? Peter. Be without fear in the face of your enemies. I haven't found anything, anywhere not made in China. I just bought a Bowflex Treadclimber and the box said "Made in China." I also bought a Husqvarna leaf blower and when looking for the serial number I seen "China made motor, assembled in the USA." It is so bad today that you will not buy anything at all if you boycot stuff made in China. Even a lot of food you eat comes from there. Tear apart a new american car and see where the parts are made. Start reading labels on every single thing and if you don't want anything made in China, you can save 99% of your pay check, will have no shoes or clothes, no tools, no car, almost nothing else. Sad but true. Blame the US companies but remember if you only want "Made in the USA" on everything, your costs will be 5 or 10 times higher. Even the super expensive German products have some China parts in them.

If you quit buying products made in China you would be naked, cold, walking, hungry, in the dark and stupid. Its not like we have a choice.

Beware of Chinese goods. Many good quality products are made there....my sony vaio, ipods, high quality gore-tex or similar gear by north face, spyder, etc. Each of the companys that succeed with these products charge a lot for them because they need to HAMMER the suppliers on quality control, and back anything that is sub-standard. Nowhere like China have I found people so ready to defraud and cheat you with shoddy products.... China is at war, economically, with the rest of the world. They continue to intentionally undervalue their currency to support exports, and encourage business investment to provide more products to copy and pirate. I feel they do deserve to have their own industrial growth....I just don't feel we should blindly subsidise it, or look the other way while they seriously damage the health of the rest of the world in the process. Cheers from Shanghai, Dan

I purchased four pair. They fit very well, much better than some "dedicated" shooting muffs I've used, and provide satisfactory ear protection. You'll probably spend more on shipping than the muffs. LOL. Not to mention our club stocked up on 'em. Please don't be deterred from making good posts, Albert. flaco

The last 5 automated and semi automated production lines that I helped design and build were sent to Mexico, Malasia, and China. THESE WERE NOT LABOR INTENSIVE PRODUCTS coming off these lines. The export of this production was and is sponsered by the GREAT AMERICAN GREED FACTOR. Those ear muffs are small potatoes in the U.S. ecconomic deterioration. Your computers, cell phones,I-pods and sound systems are larger items to focus on. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. If nobody buys it...you can't sell it! We all want something for nothing....thats why we are flooded with chinese goods. Every one of us is guilty of wanting to pay less for everything! We don't want to pay $20 for that nice American made shirt...we would rather pay $8 for the one made in malaysia/china/india...EVEN THOUGH WE KNOW THE COLOR WILL ONLY LAST FOR 3 WASHINGS. My wife was a garment worker for 15 years until she got fed up with going from one place to work to another as they closed shop so I know where to pass the blame...I'm typing to them! Enough said.

Was amazed in Rome last year to see so much stuff sold there being made in China. Even "US " brands are mostly made in China, with some differing degree of assembly in the US.

Thank God milk doesn't ship well from China. Most city slickers think milk comes from paper boxes in the supermarket.
