I have a model 70 in 264 wm. I have a had a little trouble finding brass for it that is reasonably priced. Several people have suggested that 300 wm or 7mm rm would work, but according to my lyman book they are slightly different dimensions just above the belt. Does anyone have any experience with forming 264 cases from another case (I know 338 wm can be used, but it is just as expensive to buy as 264 cases.)? I ran some 300 wm cases through my 264 sizer and they seemed to size ok. I havent trimmed the necks yet (lost my 26 cal pilot) but they appear to be ok. Anyone have any insight? Thanks D

Darren, I just bought a pre-64 Model 70 Featherweight in 264 last week and brass is actually quite abundant for it..The best price I saw was at JSC for $14/50.This is Winchester brass I can't wait to start working up a load for this rifle. Since I will use it primarely as a groundhog/deer rifle , I have settled on the 125gr. Nosler Partition as "slug of choice" since the ballistics of the 140 gr. didn't even reach 270 specs...I'll let you know how things work out........Big K

Brass is still made for this caliber, so an internet search of the large suppliers (Midway, Midsouth, etc.) should turn up some reasonably priced brass (kind of depends on your definition of reasonable, though). All of the H & H based belted mags can be used to make this if you need to, although the medium length ones work the best. (257 Wby, 7mm Rem Mag, 7mm Wby Mag, 270 Wby Mag, 308 Norma Mag, 300 Win Mag, 338 Win Mag, 358 Norma Mag). If you want you can also use the full length H & H stuff, but it's more work. 350 Rem Mag and 6.5 Rem Mag are too short. FWIW - Dan

7 rem mag is just perfect... run it through the full length.. you should NOT have to ream the neck. jeffe
