Anyone tried a load using Hodgdon Retumbo and a 180 grain slug out of a .300 Winchester Magnum? Seems like a good starting point would be between the starting points for H1000 and H870. Sound reasonable?

Played around with Retumbo and 200 gr. bullets in a 300 Win Mag in an effort to get under moa groups. It did show some promise but never did get below moa with any repeatability.

You can find some suggestions for loads @:

Retumbo doesn't start moving on it's own until the bullets get heavier than 200 grains. And when they reach 220 grains and up, it really shines!

I was greatly disappointed in RETUMBO, using 180-200gr. bullets.
Maybe I should have tried 220gr., like Steve said...sakofan.. [Confused]
