I am picking up a new Savage 11FNS w/accutrigger in .308Win on wednesday along with some components to reload for it. Thus far I have ordered Federal Gold Medal 210primers, Sierra 150gr Gameking bullets, and Winchester brass that I will match prep. I am however, unsure as to which powders typically provide the best accuracy with 150gr bullets. I was leaning toward N140, Varget or possibly even 4895, but I would like to hear some opinions before deciding. Thanks.

There are a lot of good powders for the .308/150. Perhaps one of the best in terms of velocity/pressure ratios would be BL-C2 (virtually a clone to WW 748 and surplus WC-846). But good ole 4895 (either brand) is hard to beat, and meters better than the similar burning-rate 4064. I would think that Varget and some of the VV powders would also do well, but as far as "accuracy", only you can find out what works best in your particular gun. Actually, the propellant (or maybe the primer) is probably the least significant component in seeking accuracy, with the bullet and case preparation/loading technique being more important.

POP got it.

I've personally had excellent results with IMR3031, Re15, IMR4064, VARGET.

If I had but one powder to start, it would be Re15.

I guess I'm different or lucky. My CZ shoots well with XMR 4064. Better than Vargent. That's no misspelling. It's not IMR.

In my 308, 46 grains of Varget under a 165 grain pill, gives me zero temperature coefficient.

I like Varget in both of my .308 rifles.
