6x45 (6mm-223)

25 grs. H322 60 gr. Sierra H.P. 3100 acc.

26 " H322 75 " Barnes x 2944 Deer

you can use any of the bullets and these two powders and thats where best accuracy will be...vary the load a grain up or down depending on the weights of bullets...

The 70 gr. balistic tip is super accruate as are the above..I shoot 28.5 grs of H335 for 3200..

the 55 gr. Nos. Bal tip is the most accurate in my rifle with 25 grs. of H322..5 shot average is .265 out of a 5 pound rifle..see the rife on the gun show on the African thread....Sako L-461 custom that I built.

My overall favorite load for this caliber is 27 grains H-335 under the Sierra 80 grain Single Shot Pistol bullet. I have used it for years on both varmints and small deer, and it always performs perfectly, no matter if it is fired from my XP-100 with 14" barrel (2750 fps) or a custom 788 that I recently sold (2905 fps).

The somewhat newer 70 grain BlitzKing is a devastating varmint bullet, but so is the old-style 70 grain Hornady SX.

I fire more H335 in this caliber than all other powders combined. I have a 15" Contender barrel coming from VVCG any day now, and H-335 will be the first powder to be tried.

I forgot to add: Rem 7 1/2 primers are used in all of my 6mm-.223 loads. ALso, as I am sure you know, back off 3-4 grains from that 27 H-335/Sierra 80 load and work up with all due precaution.

Hornady's 6mm-.223 die set runs around $27 from most retailers, and I doubt you will beat that by much even on a used set.

MidwayUSA.com lists them...
