Hey all,

I've got an old Rem. 721 that was originally chambered for 30-06 that I had re-chambered to 300 Win Mag when I was a kid. It has a 22" barrel. Any suggestions for a bullet and powder for this barrel length?

150 Partition, IMR4350

powder recommendation is based on bbl length.

you didn't state what you'd be using it for.

180 grain Nosler Partition with RL-22 powder and Fed 210 primer. My load is 76 grains but you need to start lower and assess your rifle and that load. Good shooting.

Thanks guys,

I'll be using it for big game; mostly deer. I'll be backpacking with it because of it's light weight and length. So you think that a faster burning powder will be best with this 22" barrel. Does the length dictate which bullets will probably work the best?
