Does anyone know where I can get powder density data? I did a search here and found that the Nosler manual lists density (actually %fill I think) of loads, but where can I find the raw data? Obviously the %fill listed in the Nosler manual depends on case capcity and I would like the density data to calc %fill myself. Thanks

Rimfire.Shooter Metalic cartridge reloading by M.L. McPherson has a good table for such info. Lee reloading also has a powder density/cubic volume chart. muck

I thought that several of my reloading manuals had that chart, but no, only the Modern Reloading by Richard Lee (the Lee reloading manual) has it as muck said.

The LEE powder dipper set comes with a complete powder density scale and the dang dippers are actually useful. Cost: $7 at Midway. PS: The fill data used by Nosler is actually LOAD DENSITY,,,a different animal. 100% load density is reached when the WEIGHT of the charge is the same as the weight of water that would fill the available space in the case. Hence it does give you the actual case capacity in grs water for the bullet and COL used. Just divide 100 by the % filled value and multiply times the indicated charge weight and you have case capacity in grs water.

Thanks. I think the Lee book will be my choice. At $11 its cheap and has received better reviews.
