Steel SlingerI would just give you my load, but I figure it's better to show what it did also. Take note that I have not finished my load development. This was just the most accurate load I had found at the time. Soon I will have a hotter load.

AI22-250for the last 30yrs, mule deer load has been (58-60)gr H-4831, CCI-200 or 250 depending on the temp of the hunt, very cold I use the CCI-250 and a 130 BTSP from Sierra. Elk -- 140gr Barnes with a similar, if I remember load of H-4831. These are my loads, they may not be safe in your weapon, start 5-10% low..........

TEANCUMI've used 62.0 grains H4831 in W-W brass with a Nosler Balistic tip 130 grains since the BT's came out. You'll most likely need a drop tube of some kind to get the 62.0 grains in the case. Outstanding accruacy and great performance on elk and deer. For a Moose I would look to the 140 grain Accubond or maybe a Barnes for better penetration. Good Luck.

Lou270I don't know about moose, but have always had good luck with H-4831 and 130 or 150 grain bullets for deer. For something the size of a Moose, I would err on the side of heavy, tough bullets such as the 150 or 160 Nosler Partition. Whatever you choose, H-4831SC is the powder I would start with.

Reloader56-58 grains of H4831 under 150 Hdy SPILs works great for deer as well as 60 grns of H4831 under 130 NBTs. The NBTs shoot a bit flatter if you intend on stretching things out. Luckily both loads are at the same zero in my 270 at 200 yards which doesn't happen often w/ most rifles.
Good Luck

Thomas JonesJust put togther the 1st hand loads for my new to me FN 270. I did the 130 grain Hornady flatt base over the Oconner load of 60 grs of H-4831, with Federal match primers and winchester brass. I will not be able to shoot it till I have a hole drilled and taped and mount a scope.
its a simply beautifull 1952 Supreem ...tj3006
