My friend and I just got into reloading, and tonight we loaded up our first 40 rounds of 30-06. Everything went smoothly except one little thing: when handling our powder (4350) the problem we encountered was usually a couple granules of powder would dance around in the powder pan when pouring it into the funnel. Afterwards while cleaning up, static electricity took hold and made cleaning all the powder out of the powder measurer difficult. My question is, most importantly, is this dangerous, and how can I reduce levels of static electricity near my reloading bench (there are no electrical outlets on the wall that the bench is on) if I need to?

You have two choices...

Wipe everything down that comes in contact with powder with one of those clothes drier sheets, or wash everything that comes in contact with powder with Dawn dish detergent.

I have the same problem with static electricity every winter. I use 35mm film canisters to dispence my powder charges in ,not to mention the plasic pan on my RCBS electronic scale. All you have to do is mix some dish detergent in some warm water and then dip what ever you want to destatic into the solution and let dry. That will cure the problem till next winter.
