Living in Switzerland, where buying guns and reloading is easy, I am not an expert on the German laws. To my knowledge, the relevant German laws are: Waffengesetz (gun law): http://bundesrecht.juris.de/bundesrecht/waffg_2002/gesamt.pdf Sprengstoffgesetz (exposives law): http://www.lfas.bayern.de/vorschriften/gesetze/A-Z/sprengg.htm This excerpt from the website of an expert offering reloading courses pretty much summarises the requirements (source: http://www.jagd-journal.de/ibinfo01.htm): Erlaubnisvoraussetzungen für einen Sprengstofferlaubnisschein nach § 27 SprenG - Zuverlässigkeit Nachweis durch Unbedenklichkeitsbescheinigung je nach Bundesland durch Staatlichen Amt für Arbeitsschutz, Gewerbeaufsicht, Ordnungsamt, Landratsamt oder Kreispolizeibehörde - Fachkundenachweis Bestandene Fachkundeprüfung vor der Behörde oder bei einem staatlich anerkannten Lehrgang mit bestandener Prüfung - Deutscher i.S.d. Art. 114 GG Ausnahmen für EU Angehörige und Ausländer möglich - Mindestalter 21 Jahre, Ausnahme ab 18 Jahren möglich - Bedürfnis WBK, Jagdschein, Sportschütze, Segelverein, Schützenverein, Golf- oder Yachtclub, Traditionspflege etc. - Körperliche Eignung There are further regulations regarding quantity of powder to be bought, and on storage of powder. Good luck, Fuhrmann

Welcome and good luck changing the laws relating to reloading. Any idea how long the process will take? Jim "Whensoever the General Government assumes undelegated powers, its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no force." --Thomas Jefferson

Gee, that's great! I hate to think how long it would take us here in the U.S. to CHANGE a law, once it's on the books!! It's easier for us to PREVENT a bad proposal from becoming law, although we do fail at this once in a while-vis, The Gun Control Act of 1968, thanks LBJ!! "Bitte, trinks du nicht das Wasser. In Austria there are no limitations for reloaders. Everybody over 18 may buy the components needed and assemble as many cartridges he wants. To my knowledge there is no limit in the amount of ammo somebody may detain. Powder maybe is limited to 5 kilos on a single spot. Weapons are divided in categories A is military stuff and forbidden B are handguns and semiauto rifles and shotguns. These need a licence, there are licences for carry that are difficult to obtain and a licence for ownership. With the latter you may carry your weapon in a bag to the range and use it there. C are rifles, they need no licencing but there possesion must be denounced D are shotguns and are free to buy and own. Carry of rifles and shotguns is allowed to persons who own a licence for handgun carry and to hunters after they had passed an exam and then only in the hunting area.

In Sweden, the only law about reloading is that you have to have a liscens for a gun in the same caliber. There are no regulation about buing components for ammo. And you are not to have more than about 10 pounds of powder stored. I have tried to find the law regarding this but cant find it. Peter

Hello Ivelin, I am looking to find some information about the Bulgarian Mazalat 7.62X54R rifles. Are they still being made or parts obtainable? My friend has one and it is the best bolt action rifle in this caliber. Thanks, Davaa
